Cursor not launching

Have been using cursor for a couple months on my arch linux (6.12.19-1-lts) machine. Today I am getting
[13343:0319/155340.160025:ERROR:node_bindings.cc(378)] Most NODE_OPTIONs are not supported in packaged apps. See documentation for more details.
any time I try to launch cursor, and it is not launching. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and rebooting but still getting the same error.

Running cursor like this fixes it:
env XDG_DATA_DIRS=/usr/share:/usr/local/share cursor

Seems to be the same core issue as here
