gmetad 3.7.2 service causes IO hangs #322

Gmetad is causing IO hangs on a small GPU cluster (30 nodes). A similarly configured gmetad instance (no GPU monitoring) on a cluster 10 times the size does not cause issues.

The GPU cluster has the rrds database on the root filesystem and the larger system has rrds on a raid system.

Any advice would be appreciated. Please let me know if there is a better place to post this question.

Last commit on this code seems to have been in May 2018.
