Collect user information

Collect machine information, statistics and user information

Ask the user for agreement, seperately for machine information, statistics and user information (3x)
Tell where the settings are kept (which file, what configuration setting)
Tell each time veejay is started where the settings are loaded from and for what they are used
Offer the bug report for review (on decline, ask user again for agreement and give privacy awereness statement)

• Collect the following information from the machine:

  • CPU type and the amount of free/used memory
  • List of video4linux devices and their capabilities
  • Commandline parameters used to start veejay with
  • Console log of veejay
  • LDD output of libveejay
  • Directives enabled at compile time

• Collect the following user information

  • Geographical Location (based on Geo IP lookup). Country only is sufficient

• Collect the following statistics

  • Total CPU running time
  • Number of samples created
  • Number of new samples recorded
  • Types of streams used
  • Types of FX used
