While this appears to be valid HTML5, is it desired to have non-alphanumeric + underscore + hyphen characters in an ID attribute value?
I was just curious, wondering if it has any jQuery or CSS implications (for example, I don't think CSS would like it if there were square brackets?) This example has parenthesis:
