How to implement a Portal for USB printing with Brave Browser?

There has been a long standing open issue with the Brave Browser Flatpak not being able to print using USB.

According to a flatpak dev, the Brave Browser Flatpak needs to utilize a Portal.

I have found using the following command will provide a temporary solution that does not perist.

flatpak override --user --device=all com.brave.Browser

Could someone help the Brave Browser team by explaining how to implement a preferred persistent solution?

Stop spamming us with support requests. If Brave wants to have reliable printing in flatpak they have to implement the portal. End of the story.

If they have trouble with a portal, that should be reported to the xdg-desktop-portal project.

Apps that want to do printing, need to use the Printing portal. There isn't much else to say here; Brave developers need to use the two methods provided by the portal above, and printing should work as expected.

thank you for your reply. There appears to be more than one solution to this problem. Since the following command provides a temporary solution, $ flatpak override --user --device=all com.brave.Browser and the portal documentation states the following:

Most applications will need access to some of these resources in order to be useful. This is primarily done during the finishing build stage, which can be configured through the finish-args section of the manifest file (see Manifests).

Could a solution be as simple as providing a change to the Flatpak Manifest to allow USB printing?

Should this flatpak manifest configuration allow Brave to access a USB printer?
