Sadly, we cannot have options relative to background activity as we don’t know what notifications will be about.

For example, it does not make sense to receive notifications "When Opening the App" or at specific intervals and assuming the app not running in the background if the app intents to send notifications about a backup job.

Finally, if we go with the activity types for the background portal, then what I described in this proposal is a type of background activity, let's say "Give news."

For backup work, I assume we can allow the app to send one or more notifications (e.g., one progress notification that can be updated when the work is done) when the app requests to perform scheduled file operations - which is another type of background activity.
