For the users, the new profile provides much more information about what happens in the browser. For example the markers are much more detailed. The drawback is that the interface might feel more crowded and overwhelming. We've been working on a simpler version of it tailored to web developers but because it's not ready it's disabled by default for now and we're not investing resources into it at the moment. For the developers, this is just one codebase that's used both by end users and firefox developers. This means less maintenance cost for us. If you have specific questions, please ask them and we'll gladly answer them. |

I'm more curious really, I didn't use the old profiler very much, if at all, and all of a sudden when I go and profile a web page's performance I'm met with a different thing.
