Meeting notices

  • FINOS Project leads are responsible for observing the FINOS guidelines for running project meetings. Project maintainers can find additional resources in the FINOS Maintainers Cheatsheet.

  • All participants in FINOS project meetings are subject to the LF Antitrust Policy, the FINOS Community Code of Conduct and all other FINOS policies.

  • FINOS meetings involve participation by industry competitors, and it is the intention of FINOS and the Linux Foundation to conduct all of its activities in accordance with applicable antitrust and competition laws. It is therefore extremely important that attendees adhere to meeting agendas, and be aware of, and not participate in, any activities that are prohibited under applicable US state, federal or foreign antitrust and competition laws. Please contact [email protected] with any questions.

  • FINOS project meetings may be recorded for use solely by the FINOS team for administration purposes. In very limited instances, and with explicit approval, recordings may be made more widely available.

Agenda and minutes

  • The core team shared a WIP governance framework, based on a 'classic' RAG architecture
  • There were questions around how this could be shared and collaborated on
  • At the moment technology is our limiting factor, rather than a lack of desire to collaborate
  • After further discussion the SIG attendees agreed that a private repo would allow a suitable near real-time collaboration.
  • There were discussions around where regulations fit into this framework
  • It was noted that some of this is covered in our FAQ, e.g. https://github.com/finos/ai-readiness?tab=readme-ov-file#will-this-framework-address-the-eu-ai-act
  • It was generally acknowledged that regulations haven't caught up with AI
  • It was also noted that we should take care in ensuring we meet non-AI specific regulations
  • There was a brief discussion around whether cloud providers can help by implement some of these controls?
  • There were discussions around the Core Team, and how to join. Any person, or organisation, who is able to commit to a few hours of effort each week to actively help build this framework is very welcome to join the Core Team.

Joined late so did not get to ask. I will like to understand who the intended audience are for AI readiness effort, what segment, personas are we targeting?
