Hello Lotus devs, well met!
I'm from the RPC node provider Dwellir, and we're adding Filecoin and Lotus to our roster. Our plan is to provide Filecoin full nodes with RPC access via the Lotus gateway and while I've got most of the node setup parts figured out, I'm not yet fully understanding the implications of syncing from genesis vs from a snapshot. As I understand it, there is no "complete full node snapshot" as in a snapshot with full message receipt history but only the most recent state. My reference on this is the Lotus docs.
So since we're aiming to have full receipt history, syncing from genesis seems to be the only option.
My question; what is the expected time to sync a full node (all message receipts, keep 2k blocks state) from genesis? Just learning if it's days or weeks would help!
Side note: I have seen recommendations to sync from snapshots instead of genesis, e.g. this one from this forum, and perhaps we'll do that too, to get online quick while we wait for the genesis sync to complete.
Regards,
Jakob
