I'm getting high sustained CPU usage in Google Chrome.

I watched it for about nine minutes, and it stayed about 17.5% on a Intel i7 (MacBook Pro with Retina Display).

I am able to reproduce the issue. The app needs to be more conservative with the amount of "refreshes" it does (don't recalculate everything every 1000 milliseconds) — perhaps a better option would be to calculate when the next change will be and do the recalculations and style changes then.
