HDL is extensively tested compared to other possible artifacts: Markdown, Asciidoc, C header, etc.

Need to find appropriate linter/compiler for every such output and integrate such checks into testing suite.

Jinja templates are easy to break, so there should be the automatic way to test that format of an output is valid and lint/warning free.
