Retire and reinstate knowledge by source revision #65

Description

@jimador

Goal

Retire and reinstate derived knowledge by source or source revision with auditable reasons,
native retrieval filtering, and no silent deletion.

Context

Hosts detect deletion, exclusion, and restoration. DICE owns the proposition lifecycle
operation. Retirement composes with existing status and quarantine behavior and depends
on source-revision provenance.

Acceptance criteria

  • DICE can retire by tenant-scoped source and optional revision with an explicit reason.
  • At least SOURCE_DELETED and SOURCE_EXCLUDED are supported as evolvable reasons.
  • Repeating retirement or reinstatement is idempotent.
  • Default retrieval and grounding exclude retired knowledge using backend push-down.
  • Audit queries return what retired, when, why, and which source triggered it.
  • Reinstatement behavior is documented and does not duplicate propositions.
  • Bundle export/import preserves lifecycle state.
  • Quarantine, decay, contradiction, and source retirement precedence is explicit.

Constraints

  • Depends on source-revision provenance.
  • Preserve history; do not hard-delete propositions.
  • Host applications own source event detection.

Out of scope

  • Automatic decay.
  • Host tombstone generation.
  • Bi-temporal reporting beyond current status timestamps.

Original request

Treat source deletion and scope exclusion as first-class, reversible lifecycle events
that remove derived knowledge from active use while retaining an honest audit trail.
