Does Theia support unknown progress on the notification area?

It's available for views, such as the SCM, but I could not find a way to use unknown progress bar on the notification area.

I could implement a progress that I manually update with work or there was no progress indication. VS Code can do it and I was wondering if Theia supports it or not. Thank you!
