Duds, FP sample size

Question:
Did we have sufficiently large duds and FPs in our training sample to assess volunteers' performance without being biased?
Could we have managed with even smaller training sample? I believe the sims sample was large enough but would be worth checking that as well.
or how large should the training sample be - depends on sample size of test subjects and/or userbase ?
