Hi there,

I am working with a developmer to assess whether RoR Ecommerce will be the right tool for our business. As I worked with the test site today, I encountered these issues:

  • I can't find where to enter product price, and I can't seem to make a product active in the store (which might be related to not having a price).
  • Also, as a customer, I cannot access my shopping cart.
  • When I try to log out as a customer to return as an admin, I get an error. I am currently locked in as a customer.

Can you point me to more detailed documentation?

Thanks for your help,

-- Lee

Are you on the demo site online?

You are correct about product price. There is no price for a product. The price is on the specific variants. For Example: "Nike Shoes" does not have a price but "size 9, Nike Shoes" will have the price.

I'm not sure why you can't access the shopping cart... It should be working fine.

I'll look at the log-out / login issue.

BTW I'm a huge cycling fan. I just have a road bike but I ride daily. I'm actually looking into buying a new road bike soon. Any suggestions?

Are you on the demo app or local? I just fixed a logout bug but you described it differently

Can you describe the issue with "I cannot access my shopping cart."

Hope your weekend went well... I have a few questions.

  • Did you add inventory to each variant?
  • Did you add variants for each product?
  • Did you add a description for the product?

Hey there,

Not yet. I am logged in as a user. When I click log out, I get an error. So
I don't know how to get in as an admin.

Mac OS 10.6.8. Chrome 31.

Hey there,

I am working in this environment:

demo site https://ror-e.herokuapp.com

Currently I am logged in as a user. I want to log out as a user and log in
as an admin to check the features we've been talking about. I am seeing
this error:

In the current version if the count_on hand in the variant is 0, you cant activate the product. but setting the check to greater than or equals 0 works. but it works on the demo site. i can activate a product on the demo site if its > 0.

This is the desired behavior right? Why would you want to activate a product if there isn't any inventory?

Yea. but the url and the flash message returned is wrong, it takes me to the edit product description page, saying i should update product description rather than no inventory. It does not say product must have inventory.
