Process for adding new users

More than 50% of access requests I receive are faulty. Often SCI-DIKU-IMAGE-users are not requested and Master's students usually send an e-mail to cluster-access@... themselves, only putting their supervisor on CC.

Should we make things easier by adding them to SCI-DIKU-IMAGE-users ourselves? Especially Master's students don't have any way of informing themselves. Instead, they rely on their supervisors, who might not know about the correct process.

Maybe we should just change it so students just need to cc their supervisor?

If people write an email without requesting permission you can just send them the link

Or offer both options.

That's what I've been doing so far. It just feels like an arbitrary restriction, as they are not even incentivised to read the wiki.
