The relation between via_shaping points and corresponding turn instructions.
First of all.
It is good to know this is a quite unique Cruiser only feature.
Cruiser is able to attach and recover "snapped to road" shaping_via points AND turn instructions stored in a single common trackpoint in a gpx navigation track file.
By the well known Cruiser "normal" routing mode
Map view.
In map view the shaping icon completely covers the yellow dot (u)-turn indicator.
In map view the via point icon only minimally covers the yellow dot (u)-turn indicator.
A shaping point icon is center aligned while a via point icon is bottom aligned.
See the turnlist text as this is the TTS text instruction spoken at the navigation.
A u-turn triggered by a shaping point. Shaping points can (must not) have a name.
A u-turn triggered by a via point. Via points can (must not) have a name.
By the way:
ALL shaping points or via points do always trigger an associated turn instruction. Mostly a "continue" straight is triggered.
A "continue" straight instruction triggered by a shaping or via point is suppressed this too limit unnecessary TTS "noise".
Best TTS is less TTS.
