  • LICENSE is empty within setup.py
  • doc/license.rst has heading "Modified BSD License" which is usually associated with 3-clause BSD license (see pedia.org/wiki/BSD_licenses) but actual text adds a non-profit use only restriction. Such restriction makes license not compliant with OSI and DFSG terms and forbids package inclusion in the majority of Linux distributions.

FWIW -- I would recommend to drop "non-profit use" clause

and might be good to symlink that license.rst into the top level directory -- so people could easily find the license

The license has been symlinked and added to setup.py on 056e84b

FWIW -- commit addressing license issue was 03fdfa4 , and it was just copied/not symlinked.

Let me know if you need help describing problems (pretty much lack of benefits and additional burden/disadvantages) with "non-profit use" clause to your colleagues.
