Ableton fails to open FlexAsio #172

If you have any other ASIO drivers installed (especially ASIO4ALL) besides FlexASIO, try uninstalling them. There is a known issue (#86) with Ableton where having multiple ASIO drivers installed can cause random failures due to them attempting to open the same devices at the same time. As for the empty logfile, did you look at this FAQ? |
Hello and thank you!! No, I currently don't have other ASIO drivers installed. I managed to get the logfile to work, here is what I get: Hope the thread isn't dead!! |
Thanks for the logfile. Your configuration file contains:
But these devices do not exist:
And therefore FlexASIO refuses to initialize:
You need to fix your configuration file to remove the references to missing devices. |

I get the "Failed to open the audio device FlexAsio" message on Ableton. Everything had been working perfectly for months. I tried uninstalling FlexAsio completely a couple of times and reinstalling, changing sound settings (disable exclusive control settings).
Can't seem to make the log file work (created it, but it stays empty after i do the FlexASIOTest).
what could be the issue?
