Hi @MCaviezel We have had the discussion with most of our customers. Based on the experience, we now recommend defining the version on an output port level, as the output port is the physical link, e.g. to a database schema or bucket of the provided data. Take a look at https://demo.datamesh-manager.com how the versions and environments are managed there on the output port. What do you think? |

Hi all,
We are currently implementing Data Mesh in our company.
One discussion, which we are having right now is, if a Data Product should have a Version.
Currently in the https://dataproduct-specification.com 0.0.1. this is not implemented.
Our Use-Case for versioning it is that we want to know which Data Product State is deployed in which environment at what point in time.
Like this we can also create a Rollback Strategy to a specific Data Product version, or identify a root cause of an error.
Any thoughts you can share about this would be interesting to hear!
