Both of these operations may block the main thread while they are doing their operations, and on large or extra large wallets this may take some time.

With that said; on my wallet with "txcount": 12465, I see no lag or hanging in the app when exporting or doing a backup.

How many txes are in your wallet? look at the debug console results for getwalletinfo

Thanks for the reply! There is only ONE transaction in the wallet that I need the export info from, so I do not think size would be an issue. I let it run for awhile and the application crashed before 5 minutes.
I tired on another computer, different brand and architecture - but same OS, and it too froze.
My suspicion then would be it has to do with the Arch base - I am on Garuda with both computers.

@knst doesn't use arch, but I believe he uses a rolling release ish version of kubuntu or something like that. I wasn't able to reproduce on Mac, but let's see if we get a repro on linux.

Otherwise @coffseducation since you're on linux, if you could compile with --enable-debug and provide the crash info, that would be very helpful.

As you can see above the --enable-debug tag did not work. I dropped the 'enable' part. It launched. I was now able to get an extra window with the option to save as a csv file. I however could not enter a name and save. It then crashed after a time.

So, I mentioned before that originally I was on Kubuntu - then I switched to Garuda (Arch based).
In upgrading Dashcore I normally download the new release and then point the launcher to the location of the new dash-qt.

I think the issue may be I have not installed the Dash wallet on Garuda! 😬
However, I cannot get it to install!! After .make finishes I have errors - mimalloc appears to be the problem!

Those instructions (roughly) worked for me in a docker container.

docker run -it
agners/archlinuxarm
/bin/bash

Arch doesn't have an official arm container to use. I will try to redo on amd64 docker. Not sure why you have that compilation error.
