Unfortunately the one example of an action path given is no longer valid since all the filtering changes

* **path** - _string_ - The full path of an action, i.e. \'lib/filter/view\'.

A random alternative still valid action path: 'iop/colorbalancergb/brilliance/highlights'

This functionality was intended for people like @AxelG-DE who might want to programmatically manipulate almost any slider or button in the gui. He has decided lua is not the way to go for him, but I would guess even for someone comfortable with lua the information here is probably not sufficient to understand how useful it could be for them.

darktable-org/lua-scripts#362 should be updated as well, and added to the library, but I think it should have some directly working examples, like the ones I gave here darktable-org/darktable#9926 (comment) (but lua versions, obviously).

I am a bit lost, likely due to lack of competencies.

  • this functionality...?
  • ... Want to programmatically manipulate almost any slider...?

Please enlighten me 😄
