Filters in Lighttable not taeking effect

Describe the bug

Apply a filter - one star for instance and it does not filter out photos with other star selections.

Steps to reproduce

1 Click several photos with one or two or whatever many stars.
2 Go to collection filters either on top of file manager layout or in left sidebar and select a star filter prefered.
3 Filter does not go into effect until what seems like many random clicks on filter selections.
4 Once the filter starts working it actually works correctly

while in lghttable filter selections should work at filtering when selected

Cannot reproduce with 4.9.0+1040~gd27e50b7d6 on Ubuntu 24.04
