Similar to #3 , there are a number of low-hanging fruit which can more intuitively guide the user towards ROS-specific pain points. These are all heuristics based on the author's experience with ROS.

  • Color code connection status (green / red) so a disconneHct is more obvious.
  • Add filtering (default enabled?) of common "cruft" topics and services like _parameter_updates / get_loggers / rosout.
  • Visually indicate when a topic has no publishers; this is often unintended.
