Event Management with Cytoscape

We have a large Cytoscape + React project with more events floating around that we're able to manage. Akin to functionality offered by frameworks like React and libraries like XState, we're in need of managing events emitted from Cytoscape.

Are there any common or best practice approaches to event management? Is there prior art / attempts taken to create an event management system or set of conventions around Cytoscape?

What are your recommendations? Who should we talk to or where should we look?
