Has there been any thought of using conpty under windows, instead of console apis?

Has there been any thought to migrating to the Windows Pseudo Console (ConPTY), for Windows support, as it is inspired by *NIX in the first place and natively talks VT, I feel it may well provide less need for Windows gorp!
