Add embedded view of Entries Field

Currently you can view Entries Field as list or cards.

I would like to be able to view them fully embedded same like Matrix fields.

On website I have each separate page contain single product. Each product is single entry in CraftCMS.
Products have many specs and data.
Some data is unique per product. Some data is shared for some products. And some data is same for all products.
To avoid repetition I extract data that is shared across multiple products into separate entry and then link it via Entries Field to appropriate product entries.

But this way I lose easy view of the data in the product entry. I either see link or card but I dont see all the fields inside the shared data entry.
I would like to see all the fields of linked shared data entry inside the "parent" product entry similar as with Matrix fields.

I understand that the shared data is separate entry and cant be edited as part of the product entry. It needs to be edited separately. But I believe at least read-only view should be possible.

This way I will be able to directly see all the fields that are relevant for the product entry without needing to click on every linked entry. Even the fields from shared data entries. This would be read-only. And if I need to edit the data in the linked entry I would just click at it and edit like we do it currently in the side panel.

@foxtrotcz I wonder if you could use a custom UI element with a template that outputs the field values that are of interest.

Great idea. I just tried it and its nice workaround. I can print the data from the shared data entry and below that I have the Entry Field to click if I need to edit. Thanks.
I basically copy-pasted existing Craft UI table so it deals with styling.

I will keep this issue open in case Craft devs decide its good idea to integrate my proposal natively.

This has come up before, but I can’t find the discussion for it…

My concern with the idea is that it wouldn’t be clear to authors that they are editing a separate element, and those changes are going to affect any other places where the element is also related/displayed. Needing to open the related element in a slideout/new tab helps establish that you’re now editing something else.

I agree, stay with slideout for editing. But I hoped at least read-only view could be possible. Just add it as option next to other view options like list and cards.
Currently I can manually do it via UI Element but I hoped if built-in solution would be possible.

I feel like a read only view would just introduce more confusion. Reason stated above, plus a question of why the data isn’t editable.
