Migrate consumers form eager to cooperative rebalance without downtime

I follow the instructions from KIP-429, added coop sticky to the list of strategies, but I get an error:
cimpl.KafkaException: KafkaError{code=_INVALID_ARG,val=-186,str="Failed to create consumer: All partition.assignment.strategy (roundrobin,cooperative-sticky) assignors must have the same protocol type, online migration between assignors with different protocol types is not supported"}

I noticed that this is a librdkafka error. Is there an opportunity to update consumers without downtime?
