exporting face regions as single jpegs(pngs)

Hi Colin,
this plugin is great,
however what I am trying to do with face regions in lightroom is to export them (using also people name tag for filenames) as
1:1 square jpegs (in its original resolution, after cropping from original photo).

They can be then directly ingested in AI training for embedding as prompts. For now I need to do this all manually in few steps without the use of Lightroom. Is there a way for you to have only the regions of faces exported?

Hi, yes, see in the export settings
(after you click on "Export ...", having selected at the top Export To: "Face Labelling Export"):

What you are looking for is in the "Face Labeling Options" expanding section.
In sub-section: "Export face thumbnail images": tick the box for "Export Thumbnails"
There are a few further options in there too for file naming and export location.

(and if you don't want to export the full images, then in the sub-section above: "Export labeled image", untick the box for "Label image")

I have managed to get them jpegs. Is it possible now to name the exported thumbnails after the face region name? Also is it possible to add padding for the face region on all sides? Reason being the face region Lightroom creates is quite cropped in and mostly the chin and forehead are cropped (missing from exported thumbnails). If you could somehow add 1-15% to the left, top, right and bottom? that would be terrific. Thank you

One of the thumbnail options in the same config section is for naming by face region name.

Yes the LightRoom face region is rather severely minimal. It might be possible to have some kind of region expansion in the export flow. I haven’t yet, partly because I have images labelled through several different flows, and lightRoom is for me the only one generating such aggressively small regions
