Updating cockpit from backport says I have the latest version (335-2~bpo12+1) however github says 340 is latest

I have the backport configured deb http://deb.debian.org/debian bookworm-backports main
I try to run the update as documented: sudo apt install -t ${VERSION_CODENAME}-backports cockpit

But I get cockpit is already the newest version (335-2~bpo12+1)

I have cockpit installed on a Raspberry Pi 5 with the latest Raspbian OS (Debian)

What am I missing?

You are not missing anything, Debian's backports simply do not have Cockpit 340 packaged as of yet.

Thanks for the info and clarification. I just thought the backport would always have the latest. I guess I made a bad assumption.
