Due to the current configuration (done with setup.sh)done in .law/software/law/contrib/docker/sandbox.py, we can only use images that have both:

  • python preinstalled
  • work on bin/bash.

This is why nor, ubuntu image (no python), or the alpine image (no bin/bash [works on bin/sh]) work.

I'm afraid these are some core assumptions made by law and I'm not sure how to work around this, i.e., to work with images not having these minimal requirements.
