performance slow?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. use "a-z" make a text of 50,000 words.
2. use "0-9" make a text of 50,000 words.
3. compare this two texts, it take about 50 seconds to do this work. 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
   I just put it in microsoft word, and use it's function "compare", which just take about 6 seconds.

   can we find a way to improve the performance?
