Did you have any luck connecting using DAC?
I am getting:

Error:
Exception calling "Open" with "0" argument(s): "A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an
error occurred during the pre-login handshake. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - The specified network name is no
longer available.)"

I can connect to DAC from SSMS with no problem.

How did you attempt a connection via the DAC? Did you just use port 1434?
