global default templates for entry types

It would be great if it was possible to define default templates for entry types globally, like the data type aliases interface. So all

entries would have the default template defined for Server if no other template is definded in the entry itself. In this case it would maybe even make sense to overtake the dataentry tag so a large installation could be 'templated' without changing every entry.
