Goal 3 of the Carpentries Strategic Plan is to Provide opportunities for growth and professional development of our volunteers and Core Team. One of the objectives under this goal is:

  • Develop an externally-valid, community-led badging and recognition program for both online and in-person roles.

This issue tracks the progress toward developing our badging and recognition programming, including our recognition and appreciation plan.

A comprehensive strategic plan is being developed for all community roles that includes a recognition and appreciation plan. The first draft of this plan will be released for review by Core Team by 1 July

The strategic plan has been developed and reviewed by the Core Team. The CDT has a Q4 project to develop a 2024 implementation plan to begin work outlined in the strategic plan.

The implementation plan has been mapped out for 2024. However, implementation will need to be adjusted to account for a reduction in Core Team member capacity.
