We could add world.data, yfinance, web scraping options and many more.
This would be a subfunction and the current "2 - Download Morningstar data into database" would need to be modified to "2 - Download data into database" and a subfunction of those options would come up.
That being said we would need to agree to reformat existing data to fit existing sample_rules_output.csv or change it to another. Either way how we access the data is not really the point, that we can I would argue is more important.

I've added a few expandable slots for different data sources, IEX and scraping off morning star is still there but its out of data. So I'm working on adding a third option for multi-scraper of several sites and seeing this spiral out of scope of what I thought was a simpler task. Unless there is more interest I'm not sure I'm going to continue.
I've been expanding on this for equities, bonds, commodities, then maybe even forex and crypto. While the morningstar data feed is no longer freemium, we can access the datapoint, use it for sanitation but the backend data handling is pretty good. @caiobran
