I am in the process of using mannequin in the dancing and choreography context. Its very suitable for my purpose except for its completely missing human shoulder movement. I found this illustration from a paper:
Adding shoulder movement would require adding shoulders (B), that can move independent on the arms (C) and the torso (A), right?
Another possibility is to have "invisible" shoulders that change the positions of (C).
In another project of mine I had to add something similar to a hand. There is a small element at the base of the thumb, which makes easier to model actual hands. Maybe something like this is good for a shoulder?

I already ported the mannequin posture editor into a web component - with no other dependencies - which I would be happy to contribute.
