Custom Fields

@amandagiles Can you add here what custom fields you're using ACF for? I'd like to code them by hand into the theme so we don't need to worry about configuration for future hack days.

I'm also going to replace the header option with the custom header functionality in core, which is included in underscores (check out custom-header.php), and the site logo with Jetpack's Site Logo feature (since we're definitely using Jetpack on the site, we can rely on functionality from it)

No problem! I clearly have so much more to learn about using Underscores.I only found out about it in August and have just started using it on 1 site. Before that I was only using the SASS files structure from it layered over on it from another theme. I'm looking forward to diving in more.

The only fields we set up were:

• logo
• header_image
• speaker_slides_link (set up just to show Kerry and Connie how ACF works)

So if you're using the Custom header functionality and JetPack's logo feature, I don't think you need to replicate any of the fields we created. We also had not applied any styling other than site width, so rewrite away.
