At least in my case, the majority of entries in my books#feed show my own activity, making the feature unattractive to me.
Having an option to filter the feed, specifically filter out posts of my own activity, would make the feature more interesting.
This feels related to my experience on the "discover" view, as described here: #2751 (comment)

I think it's a good idea to remove your own statuses from that feed.
