I have tried registering a server token and that seems to work, but sending $/progress is ignored.

Adding workdone capability to documentSymbols doesn't return a token.

It appears that VSCode does not yet natively support Progress Bars so for the moment this issue will need to be put on hold unless we can find another way to implement them
