Describe what you are trying to accomplish and why in non technical terms
I think that being able to change camera detection/motion settings at runtime would be a nice addition.
For example, having some indoor and some outdoor cameras, someone can configure only detections indoor during the day (or when at home), and motion alerts when night (or away from home). And maybe the opposite for outdoor cameras.

Describe the solution you'd like
Being able to define multiple configurations for same camera or, at least, a configuration for ARMED and one for UNARMED.
Also being able to switch configurations using UI, API, Schedule, or HA Integration.

You can use HA automations to turn on or off recordings/snapshots for cameras with the Frigate HA integration - you'll see switch entities for recordings, snapshots, detect etc for each camera.

I use Nodered to switch cameras on/off based on a me leaving/entering home, going to bed etc.

The only thing you can do is turning off or on motion and detection.

You can't specify what to detect or alert. For example, at day i would like to have only detection for people or animals outside the porch. At night i want them to raise an alert.

And
If i manage that via HA, when i have to reboot Frigate i'll lose all the current settings.

This is my use case as well. I have both indoor and outdoor cameras and currently have the indoor cameras set to mark people as detections instead of alerts in order to more easily filter things but when I'm not home or am sleeping I'd like for those to instead be alerts. I think defining multiple profiles for cameras in the config file and then having those profiles appear as buttons at the top of the main page to activate them would be a good start. Being able to programmatically query the active profile and change it would be good as well.
