Please consider adding a keyboard shortcut to open / close the joplin-favorites pane. This would be equivalent to the menu command menubar > tools > favorites > toggle ...".

You can manually assign any keyboard shortcut to the command (favsToggleVisibility) you want.
If it is not visible in the keyboard shortcut editor, see this issue #14.
