We wish to avoid adding further functionality until we move the project to kotlin multiplatform in order to avoid adding instant tech debt

• Improvements and tweaks in order to prepare the project for migration to Kotlin Mulitplatform.
• Removing or replacing Java specific frameworks
• Refactoring code where needed - it's mostly the unit tests that need work
• Create a multiplatform MVP: Java target should work without major changes, iOS support will be bare-bones but it gets us moving in the right direction
