The documentation currently states that paramsSerialization is ...

paramsSerializer: function (params) {
    return Qs.stringify(params, {arrayFormat: 'brackets'})
},

However, after upgrading the correct configuration is ...

paramsSerializer: {
    encode: function(params) {
        return Qs.stringify(params, {arrayFormat: 'brackets'})
    }
},
