Migrating to AWS SDK For Java from version 1 to 2 , S3DownloadByteCount and S3UploadByteCount Metrics are no longer available

We are currently migrating to the new AWS SDK version 2 for Java , However we are not using Cloudwatch but exporting the metrics to an external service for monitoring purposes. Initially we got those metrics in the SDK version 1 by

• Extend the ServiceMetricCollector.java class
• Override the collectByteThroughput method
• use Switch case to choose the intended metrics as specified in S3ServiceMetric.java and interface ServiceMetricType.java
  however in the AWS SDK version 2 , we only have the following metrics available in CoreMetric.java . Please how do I go about getting the values for S3DownloadByteCount and S3UploadByteCount Metric in the AWS SDK 2 for Java .

Thank you very much for your submission. This feature is not yet available in the AWS JAVA SDK V2. There is a feature request to expose ByteThroughputProvider via ServiceMetricCollector here. You can add a thumbs up to showcase your interest and help us prioritize feature implementation based on customer interest and/or add comments if you would like to share your use case and needs under the feature request .
