Compatibility with Sequelize

Hey! 😄 I'm working in a project in which we use Sequelize as an ORM and we would like to use the advantages that the plugin provides, particularly the fast failover management. Is it possible to make them work together? In that case, I would not mind to create a PR with a working example in a similar way as the Prisma example you created but I would need you to point me in the right direction.

• Which database engine is your project currently using?

Hey, @karenc-bq ! Thank you so much for the quick response, sadly it was a busy week and I could not find the time for responding.

• Yes, it's a TS project
• We're using Aurora Postgres
• Yes, we're interested in all the features the wrapper can provide. Our project will serve as a very generic DB capabilities tester and as a PoC for implementing the wrapper in our organization.

Hi @antoniom-diaz, unfortunately Sequelize ORM does not support custom drivers. This means the AWS Advanced NodeJS Wrapper is incompatible with Sequelize without changes to their source code. Is this a blocker for you?

What we can recommend is for you to share feedback with the Sequelize community and what we can do on our end is look into the changes required for Sequelize to support the wrapper and propose this to them. We can't guarantee that the community would take in our changes, but is something we can also help advocate for.
