use case: If I am typing a sentence and press the ctrl+b shortcut to format the next set of characters in bold, have enter (or ctrl+enter) move my cursor to the end of the formatted characters (e.g. after the second set of * *). When I'm typing now in Athens, I have to make a conscious effort to either tap the right arrow keys or the end key to move to the end of the line and continue typing. I prefer keeping my fingers as close to the centerline of my keyboard to minimize interruptions.
On a related note, Athens could also support intelligently knowing that when the user typed ctrl+b, for example, bold text that if a user types another * *, it will close the formatting like most standard coding text editors and IDEs do now
Note: if Athens gets a richer text editor in general like as suggested in
#1091, I believe this feature request could become moot with the feature set of a new editor.
