slide over animation

Hi,
I am trying to get a slide over animation, but seems that the code behind the animation is totally against this kind of animation.
Anyway with a lot of override I make the animation, the problem:
-on "rotation" the menu doesn't show anymore

• I noticed that the menu now is very slow to perform the hide animation

Before lose another day tryin to fix this problems, anyone have already done this animation?
