Background and motivation

See @samgdotson's review comments on #160

Description of idea

It would be nice to have a verbosity setting for the SaltProc input file that would allow users to switch on and off the various print statements throughout the code.

Implementation details

  • flow control for print statements
  • module-level verbosity variable
