DISCUSSION: Anyone around for the Databricks Data & AI Summit in San Francisco June 9–12 2025

I'll be traveling to San Francisco to attend the Databricks Data & AI Summit in San Francisco this June.

I can't commit to hosting a full meetup, but if any other DataFusioners will be around - I'd love to meet and say hi!

Timing Thread:

• maybe we could shoot for Monday June 9 as that will be before the Data and AI summit events get going full steam

I believe most, if not all, DataFusion meetups in San Francisco have been kindly hosted by Jeff Huber at the Chroma offices. This time might be similar, but since the conference starts on the evening of the 9th, a meetup that day would likely need to be in the morning or daytime, requiring a daytime venue. If it’s an evening meetup, perhaps the 12th evening would work better?

I personally have an all day event on the 9th and I am flying home on the 12th, but if I can't make a meetup no worries I can always catch up with people individually

How about June 9th, 6pm, DataFusion Meetup at Chroma San-Francisco office (mission district). Chroma provides venue and Embucket will sponsor pizzas and drinks? Talk light, socialization heavy or the opposite?

That time works for me, but ideally we could meet somewhere closer to the venue (Moscone Center). Perhaps we could meet in the conference lobby for a more casual meet and greet?

Casual meet / greet sounds good to me too (though we could do that another night as well).

I think it would be nice to meet somewhere that people who don't have a Data + AI summit ticket can attend too
